Effect of Complex Formula of Korea Red Ginseng, Ganoderma and Theae Folium on Thrombosis and Hyperviscosity

Abstract
|
|
|
To evaluate the antithrombic effect of complex formula of Ginseng Radix Rubra Koreana, Gandoderma and Theae Folium(GGT), hematological study was done on thrombosis and hyperviscosity-related parameters such as fibrogen, platelet, prothombin time, fibrinogen degeneration product(FDP), hematocrit and blood viscosity after oral administration of this complex formula to mice with thrombosis induced by dextran and hyperviscosity by HA(hydocortisone acetate). The results were obtained as follows:
1. In the thrombosis by dextran the number of platelet, fibinogen and hematocrit were significantly increased in high concentration of GGT-treated group, while insignificantly increased in low concentration of GGT-treated group as compared with the data of control group.
2. In the thrombosis by dextran prothombin time was significantly shortened in both sample groups as compared with the control group.
3. In the thombosis by dextran FDP was significantly reduced in both groups in compared with the control group.
4. In hyperviscosity by HA the number of platelet was significantly decreased in both sample groups, while fibrogen and platelet aggregation were significantly increase in high concentration of GGT-treated group.
5. In Hyperviscosity by HA prothombin time tended to bo shortened in both sample groups with no significance as compared with the control group.
From the above results, it was concluded that Ginseng Radix Rubra Koreana, Ganoderma and Theae Folium(GGT) could be applied to the diseases related to blood clot.
